FEATURES

The SXT65Q Swivel Mount Tower speakers are designed to emphasize premium sound clarity and be a substantial upgrade over factory tower speakers. It's 1" Titanium grill mounted tweeter is suspended directly in front of the mid bass driver and positioned to deliver precise accurate sound without interfering with the midbass. SXT tower speakers are perfect for family, party cove, and wake surf configurations. It's a great upscale tower speaker ideal for the surfer at a close range with great projecting power.

Hi-Definition Sound
Exile engineers examined the physics behind professional sound reinforcement acoustics, boat tower mechanical considerations, and the open air musical distortion characteristics of the marine environment.  The SXT tower speaker system is built with incredible precision for the marine environment and is capable of projecting full force Hi-Definition sound and still offer clear, warm and full sound for your passengers sitting onboard. The bottom line: Your ears don’t lie. Listen to the SXT series speaker and experience crystal clear sound.

Quick Release Mounts - Innovation by Design
Designed with the everyone’s needs in mind, this clamp is ultra versatile and stylish. It's an installers ideal piece with connection completing with just a snap! This means no flying speaker wires hanging out the back of your speakers anywhere! Simply mount, connect, and snap on for the loudest quality on the water. Boat crew, we haven’t forgotten about you either. Once the speakers are mounted and you’re out on the water you can rotate the speaker a full 360 degrees. Want to point them toward sunbathers up on the bow, or fire them off the port side toward your picnic on the beach? Simple! And when you’ve finished for the day and the boat rests peacefully on her trailer, you can remove the XM9’s and safely stow them in their wetsuit socks. No scratches and most importantly… No theft!

Compact Enclosure
Big speakers on a boat don’t necessarily offer big sounds. The SXT enclosure is an efficient blend big enough to offer full force high definition sound and still small enough to maintain headroom clearance on most boats. This 1 piece custom tooled light weight enclosure is teardrop shaped to benefit from low wind drag. It’s compact small size also stays clear from factory fold over bimini shades. And if you own of one of the popular cast tower boats, the SXT65Q can directly mount to the tower (clampless-direct fit) gaining an extra two inches of headroom.

Tower Speaker 101 - Dream it, Design it, Build it

A boat is a unique listening environment. The passengers inside the cabin are listening within feet of the speakers, in comparison the rider is 80 feet behind the boat.  The interior of your vehicle is similar to that of your boat hence, the transition of car audio into marine machines have become an everyday lifestyle need. Great sound up close, as well as, in the near field has become the requirement for ideal riding experiences for today's boat owners.

All speakers are NOT created equal.

The problem with using traditional automotive speakers is that they are not designed to project sound further than a few feet inside of the boat, This leaves riders behind the boat stuck with watching the flagger lip-sync his favorite song. This becomes even more apparent when traditional direct radiator speakers (car components) are used on a tower to try and project behind the boat.  Small direct radiators like a tweeter do not do well trying to activate the air and their fore fall off is a few feet from the boat.  In  turn, the larger midrange drivers have substantially more cone area and are able to couple to the surrounding air and provide some projection, but only in the mid range frequencies.  This creates what we call the drive through speaker effect.  What you hear back at the riding location sounds similar to what you hear while ordering your burger and fries… only louder and more annoying (if that is possible).  What is needed to accomplish the loading effect in the upper frequencies to give a flat frequency response at the riding location which is high pressure monster truck force.
